Our mission
Make giving in India transparent, trustworthy, and effortless.
In 2023, ₹14,500 Cr was donated to charity in India through online platforms — the third-largest in the world by volume. But trust in those platforms remains fragile. Surveys show 38% of urban Indian donors have stopped donating online at least once because of a transparency failure: missing receipt, unclear utilisation, or a campaign that turned out to be fake.
GAL Spark exists to close that trust gap. We are not the largest, fastest, or most heavily marketed crowdfunding platform in India. We aim to be the one a donor can trust to tell them exactly what happened to their ₹500.
That means doing some unglamorous things well: verifying every trust's 80G certificate before accepting it as a partner, splitting every campaign into milestones with proof requirements, paying out via escrow rather than handing trusts a lump sum, and publishing our fee structure to the rupee on a public page.

Every campaign passes a 5-step verification before going live. Most platforms approve in minutes; we take 24–72 hours and that gap is the work.

They are the people we exist for. Their names appear with their consent. Their stories are told the way they want them told. Their dignity is non-negotiable.
Donors deserve proof, not promises
Every donor gets photo evidence of fund utilisation, monthly updates on their chosen campaign, and an annual statement of impact.

30-day self-serve refund window. Approval automatic for clear cases. Decisions in 3 days for grey-area cases.

No story is published without the beneficiary or guardian explicitly approving the words and the photos used.

Donor data is not a product.
We do not sell donor lists. We do not share data with trusts beyond what 80G requires. Marketing is opt-in only.

From two engineers to a national platform
Founded in Chennai
GAL Spark begins as a side-project for two engineers tired of opaque crowdfunding platforms.
First 10 trust partners
Asha Foundation, Hope Trust India, and 8 others come on board after personal meetings with the founders.
First ₹1 Cr raised
4,200 donors across 22 Indian states fund 47 campaigns. Median disbursal time falls to 12 hours.
CSR partnerships open
First Section 135 CSR commitments routed through the platform. Tata Trusts inquiry begins.
Multi-brand platform
Architecture extended to support 5 sister brands sharing the same verified-trust pool.

GAL Spark operates under the Indian Companies Act, the Income Tax Act 1961, the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, the Goods & Services Tax Act, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Every partner trust holds a current 80G certificate, every foreign donation is FCRA-compliant, and every transaction is processed through a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified gateway.
