In 2024, the founders of GAL Spark spent six months travelling across Tamil Nadu — sitting in hospital corridors, village schools, and flood-relief shelters — listening to families who needed help that the formal system wasn't reaching. What they kept hearing wasn't a request for charity. It was a request for trust: trust that the rupees they'd been promised would actually reach them, trust that the donor who chose them would see the impact, trust that the system wouldn't take a 30 % cut for paperwork.

That conversation became this platform. GAL Spark is built on three uncompromising principles: every campaign is verified before it goes live, every rupee is tracked from donor to beneficiary, and every donor receives the proof of impact they deserve — including an instant 80G tax receipt by email. We charge a transparent 5 % platform fee, take zero hidden cuts, and publish quarterly transparency reports audited by an independent firm.

Browse fundraisers by cause (medical, education, disaster relief, children, elder care, animals, women empowerment, environment), by city, or by urgency. Every campaign on GAL Spark is reviewed by our trust-and-safety team — KYC documents checked, beneficiary identity verified, hospital or institution contacted directly. The verified-trust badge in green tells you the case has been vetted to bank-grade KYC standards before going live. Your money will not arrive at someone who can't use it.

Donate securely in seconds

Pay via UPI (PhonePe / Google Pay / Paytm), debit card, credit card, net banking, or wallet. Donations from as little as ₹10. All transactions are processed by Razorpay with PCI-DSS compliance and end-to-end SSL encryption. Recurring monthly donations and corporate (CSR) donations are also supported, with optional matching from sponsoring corporations. We never store your card details on our servers.

See your impact, track every rupee

Within 30 seconds of payment, your 80G tax-exempt receipt is emailed to you. Within 24 hours, the campaign sends its first thank-you message. As funds flow to the beneficiary, you receive milestone updates: surgery booked, first day of school, flood-shelter built. Utilization reports are uploaded by the trust and audited by us. You can re-share the campaign on WhatsApp, follow it for updates, or invite friends to match your donation.

Step 1 — Tell your story

Sign up with your phone number, give us a clear title, write the story in your own words (don't worry about polish — our team will help you tighten it), upload a few photos, and state your fundraising goal with a clear breakdown. The more specific you can be — surgery date, hospital name, doctor's name, exact line items — the faster donors will trust you.

Step 2 — Submit verification documents

Upload your government ID (Aadhaar or PAN), the beneficiary's ID, and the cause-specific documents that prove the need: hospital bill estimate or admission letter for medical, fee receipt or school admission letter for education, FIR or government circular for disaster relief. We will never publish your private documents — only verified summaries.

Step 3 — Get verified within 24–48 hours

Our trust-and-safety team reads every word, calls the hospital or institution directly, cross-checks IDs against UIDAI / NSDL databases, and applies an internal fraud-risk score. For complex cases (rare diseases, large amounts), we may ask for a brief video call to confirm. Most campaigns go live within 24 hours; medical emergencies get fast-tracked inside 6 hours when documents are clean.

Step 4 — Share, raise, withdraw

Once live, share your campaign on WhatsApp, Instagram, and email. Funds settle to your nominated bank account in milestones — typically 80 % on goal completion or specific medical milestones, with the balance released after utilization reports are submitted. For medical emergencies, partial early withdrawals can be requested with hospital documentation.

What we don't do

We don't take a cut of donations beyond the transparent 5 % platform fee. We don't sell donor email lists. We don't accept campaigns where the beneficiary cannot be verified, the money cannot be traced, or the cause involves political fundraising, religious conversion, or any activity prohibited under FCRA. We turn away roughly 12 % of campaign applications each month — and we sleep better for it.

Identity verification

Aadhaar / PAN cross-checked against UIDAI and NSDL databases. Beneficiary identity confirmed against the same sources. Bank account name match enforced.

Document review

Hospital admission letters verified by phone with the hospital admin office. School fees verified by school. FIRs cross-checked with police station records.

Trust KYC (for NGOs)

Registration certificate, 80G / 12A / 35AC / FCRA certificates, audited financials, three years of activity history, and director PAN cards all reviewed.

Fraud-risk scoring

Internal model flags multiple campaigns from same PAN, identical beneficiary names, fast-creation patterns, payment-velocity anomalies, and IP geolocation mismatches.

Milestone-based payouts

Funds release in tranches against documented milestones — surgery date, school enrolment confirmation, post-disaster reconstruction proof. Never one-shot lump sums to unverified accounts.

Community moderation

Donors can flag suspicious campaigns. Three flags trigger a hold and review within 24 hours. Confirmed fraud cases are reported to law enforcement and disclosed publicly in our quarterly transparency report.

 06  80G tax benefits, simply explained

Save up to 50 % of your donation on income tax.

Most campaigns on GAL Spark are run by trusts that hold an 80G certificate from the Income Tax Department. Donations to these trusts qualify for a tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 — which means a portion of what you donate effectively comes back to you in reduced tax liability.

For most 80G-certified trusts, the deduction is 50 % of the donation amount, capped at 10 % of your gross total income for the year. Some trusts (like the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund) qualify for a 100 % deduction. The exact category is shown on every campaign page so you know upfront.

When you donate, your 80G receipt is emailed within 30 seconds. It includes the trust's registration number, your PAN, the donation amount, the date, and the unique transaction reference. Save the receipt and quote the trust's 80G number when you file your annual ITR. No paperwork, no follow-ups. The system does it for you.

Example: If you donate ₹10,000 to an 80G-eligible trust and you fall in the 30 % income tax bracket, you save ₹1,500 on tax (50 % × 30 % × ₹10,000). Your effective cost of giving is ₹8,500 — ₹10,000 worth of impact for ₹8,500 out of pocket.
